The Movement Sturm und Drang and its Specific Characteristic in the Dramas by Jakob Michael Reinhold Lenz and Heinrich Leopold Wagner

The purpose of this bachelor's thesis is to investigate the German movement Sturm und Drang (Storm and Stress) and its significance in the literary, historical and philosophical context. The findings from the primary and secondary literature give us an idea of the main representatives of the movement, significant works and thoughts. The principal focus of research is the drama. The subject of investigation were two particular works: Der Hofmeister by Jakob Michael Reinhold Lenz and Die Kindermörderin by Heinrich Leopold Wagner. The aim of the thesis is the find out how the specific characteristic of the movement Sturm und Drang is manifested in these works. The analysis of these works is the starting point for the comparison of the two dramas. The thesis can be used as study material dealing with an important chapter of the German literature.
